طراحی قالب بخش بزرگی از مهندسی ابزار را تشکیل می دهد موضوعی پیچیده و جالب می باشد. همچنین یکی از ضروری ترین بخش های مباحث طراحی ابزار است .از قالب ها برای بریدن و فرم دادن فلزات نازک استفاده می شود. قالب ها معمولاً از قطعات متعددی ساخته شده اند که قسمت عمده همه آنها را سنبه و ماتریس و یا سنبه و قطعه فرم دهنده تشکیل می دهند. این فصل بطور خلاصه در مورد طبقه بندی قالب ها بر اساس کیفیت تولید محصول (پایین، متوسط، بالا) و تعداد مراحل و ایستگاه های کاری و در ادامه همچنین به بررسی انواع قالب ها و عملکرد آنها می پردازد. این برنامه از سال ۲۰۰۷ به طور منظم تولید می گردد و در این سال با وارد شدن نمونه کامل آن بسیاری از کاربران قدیمی برنامههای اتودسک و اتوکد نظیر مکانیکال دسکتاپ را خوشحال ساخت زیرا این برنامه تمامی نیازهای طراحی ، نقشه کشی و مدل سازی و شبیه سازی را یکجا گردآورده بود .از قابلیتهای این نرمافزار وجود یک سری عملیات ساخت و مدلسازی مخصوص بوردهای کامپیوتری و قطعات سختافزاری وابسته به آنهاست. این برنامه شامل بخش مدلسازی جامد و سطوح می باشد که به نامه Part Surface Modeling می باشد. بخش Assembly یا همان مونتاژ با بهره گیری از امکانات بسیار بالا در شبیه سازی حرکت و جوشکاری برای اتصالات و سوارکردن قطعات پیچیده کاربردی دارد.این برنامه نرمافزاری قوی با امکان فراگیری ساده برای طراحی و مستند سازی ۲ و ۳ بعدی دارای واسطه کاربری مناسب، خصوصیات و امکانات مفید برای طراحی قطعات صنعتی و حتی کل خط تولید می باشد.این نرمافزار قابلیت طراحی پروتوتایپ و هر گونه قالبی را دارد و نیز این قابلیت را دارد که تحلیلهای مختلفی از طرحتان در محیط نرمافزار انجام دهید. تحلیل حرارتی آماری، بازدهی، مغناطیسی و …در این پروژه به طراحی قالب کشش عمیق نینم توپی پرداخته ایم.
